Title: "Contemporary Franchising of the Global Superhero: From Analogue Comics to Digital Animation".

Description: Drawing from Rayna Denison’s unique expertise, this talk addresses the textual and production links between comics and animation, traversing the intellectual areas of comics analysis and transnational film and media studies. Taking a global approach to the interplay between comics and animation, this event discusses the complex relationships between these media, which are not often examined in tandem. This discussion will help shed light on how these two forms of visual media have interacted in different contexts and cultures, prompting directions for new research.
