Each year, the Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute hosts an interdisciplinary seminar series which brings together groups of researchers from across academic fields. Our Sadler Seminar Series is the flagship programme of the Institute, and provides resources to develop and explore series of research questions which demand collaboration from multiple perspectives.

Academics based in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures, across multiple Schools, are invited to apply to the scheme. We welcome both challenge-led and fundamental research proposals, and particularly encourage creative interdisciplinary proposals which range across a novel combination of disciplines. Each project can apply for up to £10,000 to support their activities.

We think of "seminar" in the broadest possible terms. In previous years our series have included talks, performances, debates, engagement and partnership-building events, and grant-writing workshops. Events should allow for discussion and reflection, but should also aim towards making research sustainable beyond the lifespan of the initial funding.

Full details of the scheme, and the online application form are available now to Leeds-based academics. The deadline for applications is 9am on Friday 21 April 2023. We are especially keen to encourage dialogue during the development of Sadler projects, so please do contact the LAHRI Director, Jamie Stark, to discuss your plans in advance of the deadline.
