This in-person event aims to bring together academics, researchers, educators from a variety of disciplines keen to gauge interest in the use of historical archives for research and teaching.

The session will spotlight some of the research projects that have benefitted from early brand advertising at the educational charity, the History of Advertising Trust (HAT), in order to kick-start discussions about the myriad of opportunities that archives such as this and others (Marks and Spencer, The Wellcome Trust) have for researchers.

The outcome is the establishment of a network of advertising historians who would benefit from working / collaborating with HAT, as well as, the identification of new themes / directions for collaborative research across the University.
