Introducing the Sapling Fund
LAHRI and the Cultural Institute are delighted to launch the Sapling Fund - Supporting the development of collaborative projects in arts, humanities, and culture. This scheme replaces the Interdisciplinary Research & Impact Fund for Culture (IRIFC). It is supported by the Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF).
Key details
Amount: £5k per project
Time frame: All project expenditure and activity to be completed by 31 July 2024
Closing date: 5pm, Monday 2nd October 2023
What is this funding scheme for?
The Sapling Fund is open to colleagues across the University of Leeds to develop an interdisciplinary research or impact project rooted in the arts and humanities in collaboration with at least one non-HE partner in the cultural, arts or third sector.
What are we looking for?
We are interested in receiving interdisciplinary proposals which might involve connections between radically different disciplines as well as projects built around cooperation between neighbouring disciplines. Funding decisions will be taken, and support provided by the Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute and the Cultural Institute. We will support up to three projects of £5,000 each.
We require an indicative budget for each application.
Your project must have clear pathways that lead to ambitious interdisciplinary research proposals for external funding within the timeframe of the award or shortly thereafter.
Projects must fit within one (or more) of the following themes: (i) arts, health, and wellbeing, (ii) environment and sustainability, (iii) social justice, and/or (iv) heritages and futures of engineering.
