I am a LAHRI Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Leeds. I was awarded my PhD in September 2020.
My dissertation, titled 'Deconstructing the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands Dispute from 2008 to 2015: A Poststructuralist Approach', examined how Japan and China securitised the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands between 2008-2015. My PhD project was partially funded by the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation. I am a member of the Sino-Japanese Relations Research Network.
Themes covered in my research include Sino-Japanese relations, Japan's/China’s foreign policy, Japanese/Chinese security policy, Japanese/Chinese construction of the national identity, and the ‘history problem.’ My research interests also extend to International Relations Post-Structuralism and Ontological Security Theory.
